The Yelverton Law Firm is a continuation of a 700 year tradition of judges, lawyers, and soldiers in Anglo-American history in the ongoing battle for justice and Constitutional liberty, starting from the time of Magna Carta in the making of English common law, to the struggle for the supremacy of Parliament, to the founding of America and winning the American Revolution, and to the liberation of Europe in Word War Two.
Our tradition starts with Judge William Yelverton of the Court of Common Pleas in 1307; and then to Christopher Yelverton, Speaker of the House of Commons in 1596; Henry Yelverton, Attorney General of England, in 1608; Thomas Yelverton and John Yelverton, soldiers in the Parliamentary Army, 1642-1645, and then settlers in the Massachusetts Bay Colony; Lt. Hardy Yelverton, Dobbs County Militia, North Carolina, 1779-1784; and to John Thomas Yelverton, U.S. Armored Calvary, Reconnaissance Scout, Battle of the Bulge, 1944, and Law Clerk in the post-war reconstruction of democracy in Europe, 1945.
